14. Field Programmable Robot Arrays

FPRAs are an evolution of FPGAs to address the rising resource costs of routing data through a programmable device. Instead of fixed wires or complex routing networks, FPRA robots move to the most efficient locations required to build the circuit. Upon reaching it's destination, the robot is reconfigured to perform it's intended logic function. Sensing, motion, and docking algorithms are the design issues currently being addressed.
