Brad Askins is an Adjunct Lecturer in Computer Science and Engineering.  Some of the work he has been involved in:

 

·         Certified by the Transaction Processing performance Council (TPC) to audit some of their benchmarks (TPC-C and TPC-H). He still does this from time to time.

·         Technology evaluation and building prototype systems with a small Silicon Valley consulting company called Zindigo.

·         Managing a group of researchers at HP Labs in Palo Alto, working in the area of performance management for distributed systems.

·         Managing marketing and engineering partner company relationships for the HP division producing the HP-UX PA-RISC servers.

·         Managing a team at HP responsible for the performance of HP-UX server product line. He wrote a few papers about some of the things the team did.

·         Modeling and prototyping big software systems at Bell Labs and Bellcore.

·         Developing image analysis algorithms at the USC Medical Imaging Science Group.
