Server Storage Organization
This document documents the organization of directories on the main CIMEL server, and is intended to help new CIMEL developers find file resources quickly and easily.
Server organization
The following are the main directories stored on the Cimel server:
- authorware libraries -- a collection of graphics and audio from the old Universal Machine multimedia. Some items might be useful, but if you want to locate anything in particular, you'd do best to open up the actual UM multimedia in Authorware.
- Developer Documentation -- mostly a redundant collection of the information listed on these CIMEL Development web pages. Probably will be removed soon in favor of this site.
- Flash Exemplars and Templates -- the collection of exemplar Flash files to help you get started with your movie development.
- Flash Movies - Chapter Development -- each subdirectory within this directory stores all of the source files for a particular chapter. Browse through these files to learn tips about how to write your movies or to borrow clip-art that was used previously in the multimedia.
- Flash Movies - Development Libraries -- personae and audio flash libraries for use with CIMEL development.
- Personae Archive -- the admin resource for creating new personae images and morphs.
- Public Face of CIMEL -- source files for all of our non-content movies (e.g. CIMEL intro, chapter intro, public interface "highlight" screens, etc.)
- Sounds and Recording -- admin storage space for all of the original sound files for each chapter and response sounds used in the multimedia.
- Team Members Work -- developer's space to store current projects or anything relevant to your work on CIMEL
- UI Files - History -- old versions of the user interface, kept primarily for admin reference.
- Useful Applications & Drivers -- a collection of various programs that developers have been known to use on the CIMEL multimedia.
- wwwroot -- These is the main folder where the private test interface swf files are kept before being uploaded to the main server. All swfs should be stored in wwwroot/movies/.
