For their senior project in the Computer Science and Business Program
Nick Anshant, Tim Flott, and Dan Manbeck are
developing software to improve the operation of a micro-finance
organization in Zambia. Arden Strasser, a Lutheran minister working
with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Zambia heads the micro-finance
organization. I, my wife Janice, Todd Watkins, Nick, Tim,
and Dan and another student, Diego Giammattei, traveled to Zambia the
week of 7 March 2010 to better understand the details of the operation of
the micro-finance organization.
We meet in the rural village of Mulendema
(about 120Km from Lusaka) with the members of a lending group.
