What are Animations?

  A series of pictures/frames + timing control

How to play animations?

  A player/viewer/browser

How to create animations?

  Java applets? - need programming! :-

  GIF tools? - simple! good for WWW!

What is GIFCON?

  Tool that can construct animated GIF files easily!

What can GIFCON do?

  Assemble pictures into an animated GIF

  Disassemble an animation into a series of frames

  Convert an AVI moive to an animated GIF file

  Convert an animated GIF file to an AVI moive

  Create banners/transitions/LED Signs

Animation Wizard in GIFCON

Steps:
1. Click GIFCON icon in your Win95.
2. After the "GIFCON" program appears,


click Animation Wizard in file menu to start a new animation.


3. Setup Controls:

  set animation times -- loop infinitely or animate once?

  set palette -- for better visual effect

  set timing -- for smooth-playing

4. Click "select" button in Animation Wizard to select pictures,


for example, the following 17 pictures:
frame00.gif frame01.gif frame02.gif frame03.gif frame04.gif
frame05.gif frame06.gif frame07.gif frame08.gif frame09.gif
frame10.gif frame11.gif frame12.gif frame13.gif frame14.gif
frame15.gif frame16.gif


into the current animation.

5. Save the animation into a file, say, "walk.gif".



6. Use Netscape or Internet explorer to view/play it.
